Classic Holidays Community Partnerships and Programs
Classic Holidays is the leading service provider in hospitality, leisure, member management and vacation ownership in Australasia and while our companies set the benchmark for service, growth and productivity in their respective industry sectors - we are all connected by our philosophy of ‘people first’.
It is this driving force that guides our partnerships in the communities in which we live, work and play. At Classic Holidays, we strive to make a positive difference to our industry and the world in which we live at a local, national and international level.
Classic Holidays is a proud partner of the following community organisations and programs.
Volunteering Gold Coast/Volunteering Services Australia – Charity of Choice
Matching the right volunteers to the right roles is what local organisation, Volunteering Gold Coast, has done successfully since 1998. Already the largest volunteering recruitment and referral organisation in Australia, Volunteering Gold Coast is now spreading its wings, establishing Volunteering Services Australia in early 2015 to raise the profile of volunteering in more communities all over the country.
Classic Holidays has proudly supported Volunteering Gold Coast (now Volunteering Services Australia) as our charity of choice since 2011, enabling them to continue their important work in placing volunteers at organisations such as The Smith Family, Red Cross, RSPCA, Lifeline, Meals on Wheels, TasTAFE, Cancer Council and St Vincent De Paul , to name a few.
At Classic Holidays, we’re always inspired by the stories we hear of individuals who volunteer their time to make the world a better place – whether it’s in remote communities in the most underprivileged countries, or right here in our own backyard.
Through our partnership with Volunteering Services Australia, we’ve established Classic Heroes to bring awareness to these incredible individuals who are doing great things in our communities and for the volunteering movement, Australia-wide.
Employee Volunteering Program
Our Classic Holidays employee volunteering program encourages staff to participate in volunteering activities. The program is aimed at increasing employee’s social awareness, employee job satisfaction and help promote Classic Holidays as a good corporate citizen and an employer of choice.
Classic Holidays recently helped launch the first Australian and New Zealand National Kiteboarding League (NKL) in 2015.
The NKL series showcases the best kiteboarders from around Australia and New Zealand and has helped to raise the profile of kiteboarding as an amazing spectator sport within the region. The national ranking series also provides Australian and New Zealand kiteboarders with the opportunity to step up towards the international stage.
Classic Holidays and Endeavour Foundation
Endeavour Foundation supports individuals with a disability and their communities through education, life skill development, employment, accommodation support, respite and recreation in communities across Australia.
Last year, Classic Holidays raised close to $20,000 for the Endeavour Foundation through its entry in the Endeavour Rally, with more than 300 people with a disability directly benefiting from Great Endeavour Rally fundraising. Past projects have included upgrades and renovations to Learning & Lifestyle services, a new wheelchair accessible vehicle, an edible community garden, assistive technologies to increase communication, and equipment to enhance participation in sports and music activities.
Classic Holidays is a leading participant in the development of “Work Inspiration”, an innovative student work experience program which provides local high school students with a successful pathway to help them to reach their employment potential.
Through the development of this program, Classic Holidays has formed strong partnerships with local colleges including Arcadia College at Varsity Lakes (on Queensland’s Gold Coast) and Varsity College to deliver the Work Inspiration program to its students by Classic Holidays staff mentors. The program has successfully led to an increase in the intake of school-based trainees, providing further opportunities for young people in our local community.
